This year grapes were celebrated!
White, black, muscat, chasselas organic or not, pastries with grapes or raisins ? These are the various focuses and tastings shared with all the pupils of the high school during this « gastro day » carefully prepared and run, as in previous years, by the students of CAPA (*) of Sainte-Cécile high school in Montoire. It all took placed in the framework of was is called the Taste Week.
Tis year’s focus was « grapes ». This specific day enabled to finalise a school project having to do with sharing tasting and cooking knowledge through organizing and offering a tasting of pastries, a quiz, as well as an exhibition of posters and paintings highlighting grapes.
This project was initiated and led by the teachers of biology and cooking, and was started as early as September. It was thought of and carried out by the students of these two CAPA classes. It meant working throughout the curriculum with all the teachers partaking in it. Besides, to get a better knowledge of this fruit, its nutritional interest, processing and all the work done in a vineyard, the CAPA 2 class visited a local wine farm.
